PMA 2011 Media Release

Print2Metal debuts exciting new printed metal products.

The company who brought the latest and most revolutionary printing technology to Australia in 2010 will again be exhibiting at the upcoming PMA Australia Imaging & Entertainment Expo.

Print2Metal, an online business that prints images directly into, not onto specially treated metal, was among the 10 ‘Hot Pick’ winners at last year’s show and are hoping to impress visitors again in 2011.

Printer and owner of Print2Metal, Mr Frank Hoekstra, said after a busy 12 months he was looking forward to exhibiting again at this year’s expo.

“During the 2010 show we were thrilled with all the interest in Print2Metal in Melbourne and were really honoured to be chosen as one of the show’s ‘Hot Picks’,” he said.

“It’s been a really exciting and busy time since launching Print2Metal last year.

“We were featured on Better Homes & Gardens and nominated as one of only three finalists in the highly coveted 2011 ‘designEX’ New Product Award for Accessories.

“We’ve had lots of interest and suggestions from customers and industry professionals, which have guided us in a direction we may not have previously considered.

“We’re excited to announce that our Print2Metal customers will now be able to display their artwork outside, something we have not been able to recommend until now.

“Thanks to a new range of new high-end finishes that to the eye cannot be seen, our metal prints will now be UV stable in direct sunlight for a minimum of 10 years, which will allow photographers to extend the use of their images to outdoor, display and retail settings,” he said.

Mr Hoekstra said curved and bent images would also be a feature of this year’s display.

“For this year’s show we have looked at the unique features of our metal product and picked up on its ability to bend,” he said.

“Hanging options always help to differentiate an image as well so the Print2Metal team have introduced a number of new ‘looks’ for the expo.”

Mr Hoekstra also said Print2Metal were working hard to add printed kitchen backsplashes to its exciting range of products.

“Once we have the necessary safety approvals, this is definitely an opportunity for photographers to consider,” he said.

The 2011 PMA Australia Imaging & Entertainment Expo will be held at the at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour from June 24-26.
